2004 Season - Week 13
Mr December.
In the BUMS owners calendar - on sale now for Christmas - there can be only one owner who appears on the final month. As Johnny said last night AP is Mr December. You may remember last year he set the highest ever weekly score of 68 points in week 14 and then the following week raised the bar to 70. Further investigation has revealed AP had 3 previous visits to the Hall of Fame in 1996 (week 17), 2002 (week 13) and 2003 (week 14). So it’s only natural that as we move into December AP should have another Hall of Fame week. His 60 points this week moved him past Mark and Chief and leave him just 20 points behind leader Wayne though Wayne has Jimmy Smith to play in the Sunday Night game and Josh Brown kicking on Monday Night. AP has now been in the Hall of Fame 6 times equaling the record number with Mark.
Week 12 - A Big Week.
As mentioned last week Cheryl and Dave G had both entered the Hall of Fame but both still had players left to play. By the end of the week Cheryl had scored 66 points the fourth highest weekly total of all-time and Dave G had posted an impressive 62 for 6th best. In total all 16 owners scored 494 points for the 4th highest total and fifth highest average points per owner ever (an average of over 30 points).
Daz the Prognosticator.
This is one Daz does not want to be congratulated on. He cut Panthers Coach John Fox on Trading Day 2 and then said “watch them go unbeaten the rest of the season”. Well since then they have beaten Arizona, Tampa Bay and New Orleans. Next they have St Louis at home, then at Atlanta, at Tampa Bay and finish at home against New Orleans. Many experts are saying that the way Carolina are now playing they have a real shot to make the play-offs after starting the season with one win and seven losses.
BUMS on Seats.
We are at BUMS HQ tonight from 6:30pm for Pittsburgh versus Jacksonville and then at Johnny’s on Tuesday from 6:30pm to see Seattle entertain Dallas in a Monday Night Game for the die-hards that proves the need to amend TV schedules at mid-season. Fortunately this will happen with the new TV contract rather than the TV bosses trying to predict the best match-ups before the season has ever started.
